A day which was best spent in the car, sunny, black clouds, rainbow and sleet. Rather ominous but still provided a few surprises.
A field full of curlew on the edge of the village. A common sight these days.
The local Little Owl - again
Barn Owl - long way off unfortunately. These seem to be hunting all day at the moment
Kestrel - one of several
Huge numbers of Wood Pigeons around
Another Kestrel which has just had a snack in the middle of the road

A beautiful sunny day prompted us to head for the Yorkshire Wolds using only small roads. We were pleasantly supplied by the lack of cars we encountered and for the birds that we unexpectedly came across. Here are some of them in the order we came across them.
Kestrel - plenty of these around
Little Owl - first time I have come across this one
Buzzard - a bit too far away. One os several we came across
Highlight of the day - Barn Owl. Taken from the car window.
A pair of Little Owls making three for the day.

After disappointment at Kilnsea I was compensated with good views of Buzzard, Marsh Harrier, Barn Owl and Little Owl on the way home through Sunk Island. Made the trip worthwhile.
Curlew - the only thing within camera shot at Kilnsea Wetlands
Barn Owl. At one point I was only 10 yards away.
Marsh Harrier. I saw this as I was trying to photograph the Barnies.
Little Owl. My favourite, always obliging.
What's going on over there?
I can still see you, even with my neck turned 180 degrees!!

Some more photos taken during the last couple of weeks. It's been a good week for owls with many barnies and seo's around, not to mention my favourite Little Owl.
